Watch Sync keeps Netflix players in step. It needs very little to do that, and keeps less.
What is shared
While you're in a party, your extension sends the relay which Netflix title is playing (its ID), where you are in it, whether it's paused, and the name others see you as: the one you chose, or your Netflix profile name. The relay passes this on to the others in your party, and to no one else.
What is kept
For each party the relay remembers only the latest playback state, including the name of whoever changed it last, so someone joining later lands in the right place. It lives in memory only, is deleted after 7 days without activity, and disappears whenever the relay restarts. There is no database.
On your device
The name you choose is stored in Chrome's synced storage, so it follows your Chrome profile. The party you're in is remembered in that tab only, until you leave or close it.
What we don't do
No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone. The extension only runs on netflix.com and never reads what you browse elsewhere.
Hosting
The relay runs on Railway and this site on Vercel. Like any host, they may keep short-lived technical logs such as IP addresses.
